For the past three season I've been saying that the one area that I need to improve on is my weight training. I'm good in the hills, but I could excel if I hit the weights. I have decent speed, but I could have better speed if I hit the weights. I have some tendencies to fade, but if I hit the weights I could eliminate this.
So my second goal to focus on for this season is consistent weight training. My plan will begin with week one next week with a 4 day a week plan. Two days on the legs and two on the upper body. I didn't think that an upper body routine would be needed for running, but I did notice back, shoulder and arm fatigue after long runs.
As for my race season, I'm still debating doing a second Triathlon later in the season (end of August) and the Oakdale Du is still in the air. At this time, the only race I've signed up for is the Blaine Tri, so the real training doesn't start until I sign up for more.
