When the Common Cold is not the Common Cold

On Friday I started to feel as if I was coming down with a cold. Sure enough, by Saturday I had the runny nose and on Sunday I slept until 1130. I skipped my 5k Saturday run hoping to beat the cold, but I wasn't able/willing to skip my Sunday 1:30:00 run. I got it in, but it didn't look good.

I slept forever again into Monday and went into work. My head was swimming all day and I decided to take today off. It was fortuitous that I did since Karina had an allergic reaction on her foot and needed to go in and see the doctor.

That aside, I came down with a migraine last night that went into this morning. I believe that it's stress and caffeine related. Once I relaxed some and got some coffee in me, I began to feel better.

I did my run with the main set of 5 x 3:00 (3:00 WR) and I felt amazing. I was easily able to keep a 7:38 pace so it's a great step in the right direction. The rest of this week I have a 45:00 run tomorrow with a massage in the PM. I'm off Thursday and Friday with another easy run on Saturday with race day on Sunday.
